is thinking back to all those mirages you saw along the way
nothing’s more discouraging than another phoney oasis)
the best part of having your heart ripped out
is to watch it beating still in her hand
-it’s just like those cool vampire movies
the best part of being kicked in the face
is spitting out all your teeth
-it makes a pleasant staccato whoosh
the best part of monumentally humiliating yourself
is watching the slo-mo replays in your mind
and pretending to be some kind of relationship ‘football announcer’
remember friends,
there’s always a bright side!
so let’s not act all dramatic
because the best part of being screwed over
is getting revenge.
