A reliable form of morality

A fairly reliable form of morality requires no holy books or eternal truths. If a question of right or wrong arises, simply ask yourself 'If everyone else I know did this thing, would I like it?' Saves a lot of time and gets pretty good results, in general. There are always exceptions.

Agreed. I always taught my children to treat others how they want to be treated. If life were only that way...

'if everyone I know set up a no fly zone in Libya, would I like it? 'Hmm... it appears my model only makes sense for things that aren't disruptive international events. I was thinking of things where the outcome is generally predictable... but this requires me to rethink it, for sure.
